Five Years. Two Families.
Today marks the 5th anniversary of one of most life-altering days for our family. Five years ago today Roy Heck gave my father a new heart. Five years ago today two families became forever entwined in a story of love and hope that all started with one man's ultimate sacrifice.
Today we celebrate Michael's health and each day that he gets to be a Papa, a husband, a father, and a brother. The last five years have been an extraordinary journey. I have a feeling we will all blink and another five years will have flown by. Mike's progress has been amazing and he hasn't missed a beat, so to speak. Happy Anniversary Dad; we love you.
